Home compostable
Designed to break down in a backyard compost. In Australia the standard for this is AS 5810.
Commercially compostable
Breaks down in an industrial composting facility (AS 4736). It only helps if it actually ends up there.
Recyclable
Depends on the material and what your council collects. Food-soiled paper often can't be recycled.

Cups that don't start life as a tree.
I AM NOT PAPER makes takeaway cups, lids, straws, napkins and food boxes from what it calls PlantPulp — agricultural by-products and fast-growing plants such as wheat stems, reed and sugarcane, used instead of wood pulp.
The brand describes its cups and lids as certified home compostable. Before you switch, we'll send through the current certification details for the exact products you're ordering, so you can put it on your menu board with confidence.
